Phu Tho is the sacred ancestral land, cradle of the Vietnamese people, with the Hung Kings Temple complex honouring the nation-founding Hung Kings. Each year, millions of Vietnamese make a pilgrimage here for the Hung Kings' Commemoration. Phu Tho also preserves Xoan singing — an intangible cultural heritage of humanity — along with midland scenery of palm and tea hills and traditional festivals rich in identity. It is a destination tied to the journey back to one's roots.
