The Mang Thit brick-and-pottery craft village is dubbed the kingdom of brick kilns in the Mekong Delta, formed more than a century ago along the Co Chien River. Thousands of towering round kilns of orange-red brick stand side by side, mirrored in the water, creating a scene at once nostalgic and surreal. These old, moss-covered garlic-bulb-shaped kilns once burned day and night, producing the red brick and pottery famed throughout the south. Today, though many kilns have ceased operating, the magnificent scenery has become a sought-after check-in spot for young people, and the province is planning it as a contemporary heritage site to preserve the craft's soul for the future.
