Vinh Long — An Binh Islet

McKay Savage from London, UK · CC BY 2.0

The orchard heart of the Mekong between two rivers, famous for fruit islets and a century-old brick-and-pottery craft village.

Vinh Long lies between the Tien and Hau rivers, one of the most fertile alluvial lands in the Mekong Delta. The province is famous for the cool green An Binh Islet, the cradle of orchard-homestay tourism, and the unique kingdom of Mang Thit brick-and-pottery kilns by the Co Chien River. Vinh Long is also the homeland of many notable figures and a land of scholarly tradition. Here, visitors immerse themselves in lush orchards, listen to don ca tai tu and feel the down-to-earth, warm-hearted rhythm of river life.

Best time to visit: May to August, when the fruit is in full season
