The resistance capital amid the forests of Tuyen Quang, tied to the Tan Trao banyan tree, the Na Nua hut and the 1945 National Congress.
Amid the great forests of Tuyen Quang, Tan Trao is enshrined as the 'capital of the liberated zone' of the Vietnamese revolution. Beneath the ancient Tan Trao banyan tree, the Vietnam Liberation Army once held its departure ceremony before marching to liberate Thai Nguyen in 1945. Not far away stands the simple bamboo Na Nua hut, where President Ho Chi Minh lived and worked in the days before the uprising. The Tan Trao communal house bears the mark of the historic National Congress. Here, visitors fall silent among palm forests and tea hills, listening to the heroic story of a nation-building era in the mountains of the Viet Bac.
