Soc Trang is a coastal province famous for the distinctive blending of three peoples — Kinh, Khmer and Hoa — clearly shown in its remarkable system of pagodas, among the finest in the Mekong. Here are the Bat Pagoda with its thousands of flying foxes, the curious Clay Pagoda and many brilliant Khmer pagodas. The ngo boat race festival during Ok Om Bok draws large crowds of visitors each year. Soc Trang is also famous for renowned specialties such as pia cake and Chinese sausage, offering a fascinating journey of cultural and culinary discovery.
