The 'Ha Long Bay on land' — winding rivers threading through limestone karsts and mysterious caves.

Seated in a small sampan, the boatwoman gently dips her oar and glides you through a landscape straight out of an ink-wash painting. The boat slips through dark caves where stalactites hang down to brush the water's surface, then suddenly opens onto a lush green valley. Birdsong, the sound of water, and an absolute stillness make Trang An a rare haven of peace.
