The island's north-western cape, with the coast of Cambodia visible across the gulf.

Ganh Dau is the cape at the north-west corner of Phu Quoc, and what makes it worth the trip is what you can see from it: the coast of Cambodia about four kilometres away across the gulf, clear enough on a good day to make out buildings on the far side. This is the closest point on the island to Cambodian territory. The cape has a rocky shore and a small sand beach, water unusually clear because few boats come here, and a handful of local seafood places. On the headland is a temple to Nguyen Trung Truc, the leader of the anti-French resistance in the south who used these waters as a base.
