Ca Mau Cape is the sacred southernmost point of the country, a place every Vietnamese hopes to set foot on at least once. Within Mui Ca Mau National Park, a Ramsar site and world biosphere reserve, it is a tidal flat continuously pushing out to sea on alluvium, with deep-green mangrove forests of rhizophora and avicennia. Visitors check in by the ship-shaped national coordinate marker, stand on the observation deck and gaze out over the East Sea and the Gulf of Thailand, one of the rare places where you can watch both sunrise and sunset over the sea. Riding a speedboat through the mangroves and savoring fresh crab, ba khia and len snails, visitors fully feel the wild beauty and the pride of standing at the very tip of the country.
