The delta's largest nursery and ornamental-plant district, where every plot is a seedbed.

In Cai Mon the line between house and nursery barely exists: front yards, canal banks and footpaths are all packed with potted seedlings. This stretch along the Ham Luong river supplies fruit stock and ornamentals across southern Vietnam — durian, rambutan, mangosteen, apricot blossom and hand-trained bonsai. The grafting trade here goes back more than a century, passed down within families. The busiest weeks come before Lunar New Year, when boat after boat of blossom and bonsai leaves the landings and the gardens suddenly stand empty.
