A sacred temple at the foot of Sam Mountain, one of the greatest pilgrimage sites in the southwestern Mekong region.
At the foot of Sam Mountain, the Ba Chua Xu Temple stands majestic with its soaring curved roofs and brilliant gold-and-vermilion hues. Each year, millions of pilgrims travel here to pray for peace and prosperity, especially during the Lady Temple Festival in the fourth lunar month. Incense smoke swirls, and devout prayers blend with a vibrant spiritual rhythm. This is not only a place of worship but also a distinctive cultural feature of the Chau Doc region, a meeting point of the Kinh, Khmer, Cham and Hoa peoples.
