Naejangsan National Park — Jeonbuk

Widely held to have Korea's finest autumn colour, with a hundred-metre tunnel of maples.

Every late October the country comes to Naejangsan. The approach to Naejangsa temple is lined with maples that close overhead into a burning red tunnel about a hundred metres long — the most familiar autumn photograph in Korea is taken here. The peaks form a horseshoe around the valley, so wherever you stand the red, orange and yellow are layered. A cable car carries you to a viewpoint if you would rather not climb.
