Everland

Everland — Gyeonggi

Roller Coaster Philosophy, Jeremy Thompson · Public domain

Korea's largest theme park, with the steepest wooden roller coaster in the world and a flower garden that changes face four times a year.

Everland is not just an amusement park — it is how Koreans measure the season. In April tulips cover the hillside, in June roses, in autumn chrysanthemums and silver grass, and in winter the whole park is strung with lights. The ride everyone talks about is T Express, a wooden-framed coaster with a 77-degree drop so near vertical that you leave your seat for a beat. Beside it is Zootopia, with a bus tour that runs among lions and bears and a white tiger enclosure. Weekends are packed, but the park is big enough to absorb it.
