Mancheonha Skywalk, Danyang

A glass deck out over a cliff eighty metres up, looking straight down at the Namhan river bend.

At Danyang the Namhan river loops almost closed around the foot of a cliff, and someone built a spiral tower to the top of that cliff and pushed three glass arms out into the air. Standing at the end of an arm there is eighty metres of nothing under you, then green water. The way up is a spiral ramp about a hundred and twenty metres long, so the view opens gradually as you climb. Beside it are the region's longest zipline and an alpine coaster down the hill. Danyang is limestone country, which is why the river here runs a jade green quite unlike other Korean rivers.
