Nui Coc Lake spreads vast beneath the Tam Dao range, its calm blue waters dotted with dozens of small islands rising like an ink-wash painting. The lake is tied to the tragic love legend of Lady Cong and Mr Coc, whose tears flowed into the Cong River that formed the lake. Visitors take a boat around Co Island and Nui Cai Island, stopping at the resort with the Legend Cave and structures recreating the love story. Around the lake roll the endless tea hills of Thai Nguyen, birthplace of its famously fragrant tea. In the early morning, mist drifts over the water to create a magical, romantic scene.
