Vietnam's only coastal dry forest, where sea turtles still come ashore to nest each summer.

Nui Chua is the driest region in Vietnam, and that produces a forest unlike anywhere else in the country: low, thorny, small-leaved, broken by cactus stands and exposed granite — closer to tropical dry forest than rainforest. The coast road passes Hang Rai, where ancient coral terraces have been lifted into stone steps and dawn swell pours over them like a waterfall. The park's beaches are among the very few places on the Vietnamese mainland where green turtles still nest, and each summer volunteers keep night watch over the clutches. UNESCO listed the park as a World Biosphere Reserve in 2021.
