The core of the Plain of Reeds, with a rich wetland ecosystem that shelters many rare waterbird species.

The Lang Sen Wetland Reserve is often called a miniature Plain of Reeds, preserving almost intact the wetland ecosystem characteristic of the Mekong. Across more than five thousand hectares, it is home to hundreds of plant species, freshwater fish and rare birds such as storks, night herons and water cocks. In flood season, fields of lotus, water lilies and wild rice stretch endlessly, and flocks of birds fill the sky at dusk. Drifting by boat through peaceful canals, visitors can observe pristine wildlife and listen to nature breathe gently across the floodplain.
