Vietnam's tallest building, eighty-one floors bound together like a sheaf of bamboo.

Landmark 81 rises over four hundred and sixty metres and leaves everything else on the Saigon skyline far behind — from anywhere in the city, including Thu Duc or across the river, you can see it. The design takes its idea from a bundle of bamboo: blocks of uneven height bound tightly together and shooting upward, so in profile the building is not a box but a sheaf. The observation deck occupies three floors at the top and includes an open-air terrace, which Bitexco does not have. From up here the Saigon river curves away like a strip of silver, and at night the city spreads out with no visible edge.
