The Lung Ngoc Hoang Nature Reserve is dubbed the green lung of the western Hau River region, preserving one of the rare remaining patches of primeval wetland in the delta. Spanning more than two thousand eight hundred hectares, it is a natural lowland of cajuput forest, eleocharis meadows, tangled marsh ponds and rich vegetation. Lung Ngoc Hoang is home to hundreds of plant and animal species, including many rare birds, fish and reptiles. Drifting by boat through the silent cajuput forest, visitors immerse themselves in pristine nature, listening to birds calling to their flocks and breathing the primeval freshness of the southern floodplain.
