Upland sticky rice roasted inside young bamboo tubes, fragrant with the scent of bamboo, dipped in sesame salt or cham cheo.

The food of forest travelers: sticky rice packed into a bamboo tube with spring water and roasted over glowing embers. Crack open the tube and peel back the silky inner membrane to find rice that is soft, sweet and scented with young bamboo — perfect with grilled chicken or sesame salt.
