๐ŸŒธ Buckwheat Cake

A soft, fluffy steamed cake ground from buckwheat flower seeds, with a mild nutty sweetness of the highlands, an emblematic specialty of Ha Giang's rocky plateau.

When the pink-purple buckwheat blossoms fade across the rocky plateau, the Hmong gather the seeds, sun-dry them and grind them fine to make cakes. The flour is kneaded with water, pressed into round molds and steamed or grilled over charcoal until fragrant. This humble, nutty-sweet cake is the essence of the flower that symbolizes Vietnam's far northern frontier.

Flavour: Soft and fluffy, rustic nutty sweetness
