Southern-style thick steamed rice cakes topped with golden roasted-rice-powder pork skin and mung bean, drizzled with sweet-and-sour chilli fish sauce.
At Bung market in Thuan An, bánh bèo bì has been passed down through four generations. Unlike the Hue version, these cakes are steamed thick in their moulds and topped with pork skin tossed in fragrant roasted rice powder and mashed mung bean — rustic and true to Binh Duong.
Flavour: Soft and rich, nutty with roasted rice, sweet-and-sour
