More than forty islands scattered across a lake in the forest — the Ha Long Bay of the highlands.
When the Dong Nai 3 hydro reservoir filled, the hilltops of the Ta Dung valley became dozens of green islands floating on the water — which is why people call it the Ha Long Bay of the Central Highlands. But the park is more than the lake: behind it stands montane evergreen forest sheltering yellow-cheeked gibbons and birds endemic to the southern Truong Son plateau. The best viewpoints are the roadside knolls, where at first light low cloud covers the water and only the island tops break through.
