Dray Sap Waterfall, meaning 'smoke waterfall' in the Ede language, is one of the most beautiful and majestic falls in the Central Highlands. From high above, the Serepok River pours over a basalt cliff hundreds of meters wide, the water throwing up white spray against the rocks to create a hazy mist like smoke, hence the name. Surrounding the falls is dense primeval forest with ancient trees, tangled vines, and cool, fresh air. Standing before the falls, the roar of the water echoes across the whole region, leaving travelers awed by the wild power of nature. Dray Sap is tied to the beautiful yet sorrowful love legend of an Ede couple, captivating all who set foot in this majestic wilderness.
