Cloudy rice wine drunk from a bowl โ order one kettle and a table of food arrives with it.
On Jeonju's makgeolli streets there is an unwritten rule: order the first kettle and the house brings a tray of dishes; order a second and a new tray appears with different food. The wine is lightly fermented, cloudy, faintly sweet and naturally fizzy, drunk from bowls rather than glasses. This is how Jeonju receives visitors.
