Damyang has the largest bamboo groves in Korea, so the tube becomes the pot: glutinous rice with chestnuts, jujube, beans and pine nuts is packed into fresh bamboo, sealed with paper and steamed. Opened at the table, the rice carries a faint scent of bamboo. It comes with a dozen mountain vegetable dishes โ the most elegant vegetarian meal in Korea.
