Chicken braised in soy sauce with glass noodles, potato and dried chilli — one big pan for the table.

Jjimdak was invented in Andong's old market, reputedly when the chicken shops needed something new to compete with fried chicken. Chicken is braised in sweet soy with potato, carrot, onion and sweet potato noodles, warmed by dried chilli. One order feeds three or four, and the sauce-soaked noodles always go first.

Flavour: Salty-sweet with mild heat
